Britannica School Content Changes

Monday, February 22, 2016

BadgerLink staff recently learned that Britannica has discontinued the Learning Games and Interactive Resources components of Britannica School. The interactive content was created on a now obsolete platform and is unable to be updated to reflect new technology trends.  For example, many of the interactive games could not be viewed on the variety of new devices that students and teachers use. Rather than updating old systems, Britannica is focusing on developing their School product to support students and educators.

Here’s what Britannica School been working on:

  • Providing the option to upload files to My Britannica with Resource Packs
  • Adding more than 1,200 new and revised articles monthly, all with up-to-date media
  • Interactive, engaging homepages that highlight curriculum and other relevant content at all levels
  • New and improved video content – In the last year Britannica School added more than 3,000 new videos
  • Increasing number of images and infographics
  • Also coming soon, Britannica School will be adding more new interactive timelines, which should be live on the site in 2016

Update Your Website

Because Britannica School has discontinued the following resources, the URLs that BadgerLink provides will no longer work.

  • Britannica School Learning Games – Elementary
  • Britannica School Interactive Resources - Middle
  • Britannica School Interactive Resources - High

If you link to any of these resources, please remove them from your website. Sorry for any inconvenience. Please Contact Us if you have any questions.
