Resource Highlight: Science Reference Center

Thursday, April 16, 2020

During this time of public library closures and schools relying on distance or virtual learning, we are highlighting BadgerLink resources that may be of particular interest to Wisconsin residents at home.

Science Reference Center has full-text science reference books, images, and periodicals, as well as a new collection of science videos.

This new collection features more than 2,000 videos from top educational publishers such as:

  • Boclips: A collection of nearly 200 short-form clips that are curated, copyright-cleared, and ready for the classroom; includes videos from LearnZillion, Paul Andersen with Bozeman Science, PBS LearningMedia’s Crash Course with John Green, and TED-Ed
  • Media4Math: Approximately 100 video tutorials in algebra and geometry
  • Nature Picture Library: More than 1,500 video clips featuring footage of animals in their natural habitats (no sound or transcripts)
  • Twig Education: Nearly 200 three-minute videos that align with Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) and cover topics in the earth, space, life, physical and applied sciences

A new carousel appears on the search results page when videos related to search term(s) are available.
