ASK Britannica

Summary

Britannica has a new AI-powered search tool called ASK Britannica. The feature will be live in Britannica School - High and Britannica Library - Reference Center starting the week of August 25.

The newest feature within Britannica School - High and Britannica Library - Reference Center is ASK Britannica!

This AI-powered tool allows students using Britannica School - High to ask natural-language questions and receive clear, concise answers drawn from Britannica’s trusted, expert-reviewed content.

For example, if a student asks “Why haven’t humans landed on Mars?” they’ll get a short summary powered by AI, but sourced exclusively from Britannica’s carefully vetted resources.

Along with the answer, ASK Britannica cites its sources, allowing users to explore the original material to gain a deeper understanding. Additionally, students can access suggested follow-up questions to guide further exploration, helping them navigate complex concepts and expand their knowledge.

ASK Britannica is slated to be live for all users in Britannica School - High and Britannica Library Reference Center starting this week.

School districts may opt out of this feature by reaching out to us. For your consideration, the ASK Britannica feature meets the Department of Public Instruction privacy requirements. The DPI AI Guidance for Enhancing K-12 and Library Education was used in evaluating Britannica's ASK Britannica feature.
