In celebration of heading back to school, BadgerLink Bulletin is highlighting BadgerLink resources especially for our K-12 students and educators.

Resource Basics

TeachingBooks is an engaging collection of resources that brings books to life, empowering all readers to:

• Connect deeply with a book they are reading

• Gain new insights and understanding from award-winning authors

• Reinforce cultural authenticity and perspectives with diverse books

• Cultivate a life-long love of reading

• Find author interviews, lesson plans & interactive activities, discussion guides, and more to support literacy instruction

  Learn how to navigate and utilize Diverse Books Toolkit in TeachingBooks resource, including;

  • Search for diverse books by culture, subject, grade level, and genre.

In the Classroom

TeachingBooks provides Teaching Ideas, resources for jumping-off points that deepen discussions, inspire reading interest, and support connections to books and authors. Easily share and include in your instructional plans, newsletters, and social media. Check them out:

• Monthly Lesson Ideas Easy to access lesson ideas for use in libraries and classrooms

TeachingBooks also created games in their For Fun collection. Play for favorite books, or you can select titles of interest based on grade levels, cultural experiences, genres, and more.
