Thank you to all who attended the BadgerLink for Library Staff session (PDF link to slides) at the WLA Conference in Lake Geneva. It was great to be back in person, sharing what BadgerLink has to offer and hearing from folks in the field. We left energized and ready to do what it takes to support staff and your needs when navigating the electronic resource landscape.
For those of you not in attendance, highlights included content found on the For Library Staff page, such as:
-
Assistance in selecting resources tailored to your user community with Resource Guides.
-
Methods for taking advantage of your library website to ensure access by using direct links, reconsideration of linking to the BadgerLink homepage, and options for utilizing your district’s single sign-on (SSO) tool, if available.
-
Available print marketing materials & future options such as digital images, easier access to resource logos, etc.
-
Importance of training materials, not only to boost the comfort level of staff, but in turn that of your users.
After the presentation, we provided a quick demo of searching Consumer Reports Magazine & Buying Guide through MasterFILE Complete (Recording of this training from November 15 coming soon!) . There was also a great conversation about the BadgerLink procurement process and a teaser into how data from the Statewide Database Inventory & Needs Assessment Study will help inform future procurements.
