New Data and Resources for Understanding How BadgerLink is Used

Summary

In addition to the already robust collection of Stories demonstrating the impact of statewide access to BadgerLink resources, the Statistics page has been updated to include a wealth of new information! Find 2019-2024 statewide usage data, an explanation of reports we receive and what the data means, and step-by-step instructions for libraries interested in obtaining their own usage data.

Over the years, libraries and community members have submitted their BadgerLink success stories, and many of them have been published and shared. They tell of the importance of statewide access to trustworthy resources for student growth at the K-12 and higher education levels, for supporting the curiosity and information needs of the public, and for many other situations in between. These anecdotes are one piece of the puzzle when it comes to understanding how BadgerLink resources are used.

Based on input and guidance from the BadgerLink Advisory Group, the Statistics page recently went through a much-needed revision. The page now contains clearer information about the reports we use from each BadgerLink vendor and the data definitions, actual year-over-year resource use numbers from 2019-2024 with a few trend highlights, and what is available for libraries looking to understand their own local use.

Library-Level Report Options

Some BadgerLink resource vendors are able to supply library-level reporting. Libraries will not automatically receive usage reports; they must be requested or obtained directly if your library already has access to the vendors' administration sites. See the library-level report options section for considerations and next steps!
