As you are doing your research, think about the documents, images, and video that you're analyzing. Even when reliable, there are different motivations for sharing information.
- Why did someone write, draw, or take a picture of this?
- What is the author trying to convince me?
- Why should I believe the author?
- What is different and what is the same about the things I am seeing or reading?
How am I going to share information?
There are different kinds of essays or reports you can write.
- Opinion - giving your opinion on a topic with supporting evidence
- Informative/explanatory- explaining a concept including facts, definitions, and details
- Narrative- describing an experience with a sequence of events and possibly dialogue
